Strong Data for Strong Almond Trees

Get Residual Control that Goes the Distance

Alion almond herbicide is foundational for permanent crops. As an almond herbicide, it offers unequaled long residual and pre-emergent control of grasses and broadleaf weeds that reduces competition to improve plant vigor. Additionally, it allows for improved water and nutrient uptake from clean orchards and grove floors.

Alion provides pre-emergent control of grass and broadleaf weeds that lasts up to 6 months. Its unique chemistry controls resistant weeds, including ALS-, ACC-asa-, triazine- and glyphosate-resistant species.

Potential Starts Young

Get to the Root of the Solution

Young trees develop root systems during their early, nonbearing years. Parasitic nematodes can rob them of their future potential. Movento and Velum One fend off nematodes, which is crucial as nematodes can re-infest soil just 2-3 years after fumigation.

At this stage, weed control is also important. Alion helps provide clean orchard floors, giving young almond trees every chance to reach their full potential.

Increase the Size & Strength of Young Almond Trees

Efficient and effective treatment against parasites makes for stronger trees. Their roots are better protected which increases yield and quality.

Studies conducted in 2017 by the UCCE showed that young almond trees treated with a combination of Velum One and Movento outgrew untreated populations.

More specifically, trees treated with Velum One show 58% increase* in canopy diameter (green canopy pixels). These trees were planted in January of 2017 and treated in the Spring of 2017 with Velum One applied at 6.5 oz/A, via drip irrigation.
