Luna Hits Fungus Out of the Park at Fifth Annual Ag Night

Friday, May 25, 2012

On Friday, May 11, Bayer CropScience and Luna sponsored the Fifth Annual Ag Night at the Fresno Grizzlies’ baseball game. Bringing together growers from California’s Central Valley, Ag Night gave us the opportunity to celebrate the region’s rich agricultural past and current position as the most productive agricultural region in the world. We thanked customers for their continued support and showcased Luna, Bayer’s newest fungicide innovation, as the spotlight brand alongside Movento, Belt, Alion and the Horticulture portfolio.

Along with more than 1,500 attendees, we enjoyed a delicious pre-game cookout and family-friendly activities at Chukchansi Park, the Grizzlies’ home stadium. After the cookout, everyone settled into their seats to watch the Grizzlies take on the Iowa Cubs and enjoy an amazing fireworks display following the game.

We were so pleased to return to California’s Central Valley to partner with the Fresno Grizzlies to present Ag Night. Luna will help these growers hit a home run with their crops this year and into the future, so Ag Night was the perfect place to showcase Luna and celebrate our strong grower community with good food and a great game.

Bayer CropScience and Luna were well represented at the game. Four concourse banners were displayed throughout the stadium and a large Luna logo adorned the field behind home plate. AgNight also marked the debut of a new truck wrap that will travel the California roadways in the coming months, showcasing Luna on both sides of the truck and Movento on the front and back. The debut of the Luna outfield wall also encouraged a lot of smiles at AgNight, capturing the hearts of baseball fans and Fresno fans alike with a memorable tribute to the beloved baseball film Field of Dreams. The Luna wall will continue to delight visitors for the remainder of the season.

At the bottom of the fourth, Luna sponsored an in-inning activity that engaged children to “knock fungus out of the park.” The kids took turns hitting ‘fungus balls,’ with the child who hit the ball the furthest winning a Grizzlies jersey. To end the night, all of Bayer’s guests left the game with a Luna baseball. Overall the event was a great success, with record-high attendance and plenty of happy customers.
