Thursday, May 24, 2012
Making a difference in the communities where we live and work is not just a saying but a reality for the employees at Bayer CropScience. The Triangle Business Journal recently announced their ‘40 under 40’ class of 2012 and two Bayer CropScience employees were winners!
Two of our talented employees, Bekah Mahan and Meredith Lawhon, won the 40 Under 40 Leadership award for their outstanding contributions to Bayer CropScience and the community. Awards were given to individuals who have attained significant leadership roles at their organizations, achieved career milestones in 2011 or had substantial involvement in community service. Both Ms. Mahan and Ms. Lawhon stand out because their professional and community engagements reflect the same high standards and dedication as their business accomplishments. The future promise of these two individuals is unlimited, and we can expect their track records to continue their upward rise.
Ms. Mahan, a 2-year veteran, was recently appointed to the new position of BioScience U.S. Marketing Communications Manager and she supports U.S. brand activities in soybeans, cotton, corn, rice, and canola. Mahan has represented Bayer CropScience in activities with Passage Home, a Southeast Raleigh community development organization.
Ms. Lawhon, a 4-year veteran, was recently promoted to head of Global Human Resources, BioScience, and has led culture and business changes by creating change campaigns, connecting with employees and developing a high performance culture. The Women's Leadership Initiative, Leadership Academy and Mindful Matters projects probably would not exist in their present form but for Ms. Lawhon and her energy, drive and innovative ideas.

Thank you Triangle Business Journal for honoring two of our wonderful employees and recognizing their efforts to be great members of the Bayer team and the Triangle community. Congratulations Bekah and Meredith, we’re honored to have you on our team!
