Happy National Farmer's Day 2016

While some may see October 12 as a regular autumn day, those in agriculture are honoring the history of the American farmer. National Farmer’s Day is celebrated annually to pay tribute to the hard-working farmers and family farms that help to put food on our tables. As the saying goes, we should thank a farmer three times a day. That sentiment is even more important on October 12.

In honor of National Farmer’s Day, we’ve put together a quiz to test your knowledge of the American farmer. Give it a try, and maybe you will learn some new facts about farmers and one of our nation’s largest industries.

Now that you’ve gained some valuable information about the American farmer, spread the word about the hard work these men and women do. Farmers work an average of 10 hours per day (plus weekends) and almost never take vacations, all to feed a hungry and growing world. Celebrate National Farmer’s Day with us and remember to thank the next hardworking farmer you see!

Advocating for modern agriculture is a role that all of us involved in the industry can fulfill. The AgVocate Facebook community is a place where those who are passionate about modern agriculture can come to meet and discuss the trends and challenges facing the industry today. Follow along with us on Facebook and join the group to engage in the conversation about agriculture, food production and the innovation needed to feed a hungry world.
