2016 was a great year in which we engaged growers, students, educators and consumers through AgVocate, Making Science Make Sense, national tradeshows, customer interactions and much more. It was also the year for increased investment in innovation and the future of agriculture, and deeper commitment to our growers. 2017 proves to be no different! As we all gear up for the season ahead, there are plenty of exciting things to look forward to.
Being able to hear about challenges, successes and opportunities from our customers is just one of the many reasons we look forward to yearly events like Commodity Classic, Farm Progress Show, CAPCA, ASTA CSS & Seed Expo, the Producer Information Exchange (PIE) tours and many more. Continuing to strengthen our customer focus is a #1 priority for Bayer.
The agriculture industry faces many challenges in an ever-changing environment. AgVocating for Modern Ag
Our efforts to inform, encourage, and enable positive voices for modern agriculture will continue in 2017. As the AgVocate Facebook group continues to expand with members from all backgrounds, we’re confident conversations will deepen and more voices will be heard, creating more opportunities to help growers connect with consumers.
Feeding a Hungry Planet
Young adults from across the globe will gather in Brussels, Belgium this fall to explore and discuss their opinions for solving our global food challenges. Youth Ag Summit will be an exciting time for all involved come October. Throughout the year, we will have plenty of updates on our U.S. delegates who were selected to attend.
Supporting the Future of Ag
In addition to the 2017 Youth Ag Summit, we will be continuing our Making Science Make Sense activities at local schools and on-site at our locations across the country. We also can’t wait to give the top FFA chapter their donation from our Real Yield Sweepstakes at this year’s Commodity Classic. Up to $50,000 will be given out to various chapters around the country. By supporting organizations that are focused on agriculture education, community involvement and leadership, we help ensure a bright future for the industry.
Every year we strive to educate and provide growers with the tools they need to tackle the toughest challenges in fields, orchards, or groves. By giving growers the latest information on Bayer solutions, we aim to help them make the best decisions for their farms. Helping our Pollinators
In the last two years, nearly 1 million people and over 100 organizations have joined Bayer Crop Science to plant two billion flowers to support pollinators! And it doesn’t stop there! We are continuing to grow, and have an exciting year ahead for bee health research and education, so be sure to stay tuned for ways that you can support our pollinators.
Investing in Innovation
A new greenhouse is set to open at our Research Triangle Park headquarters this year, making it our third major greenhouse facility at this campus. We will also be celebrating the 20 year anniversary of one of our long-standing seed innovations. Happy Birthday InVigor® canola!
