Company announces decision to redirect current sponsorship focus in an effort to increase leadership and advocacy for the rose care sector
Research Triangle Park, N.C., June 14, 2012 – Today Bayer AdvancedTM, the consumer branded business of Bayer CropScience LP, announced its plans to take its sponsorship activities in a new direction that will help the company continue to advocate for the importance of roses and flowers to homes and gardens everywhere. This reallocation of focus and funding will move the company away from some of its historic sponsorships, including involvement with the Tournament of Roses® Association, and will create new opportunities for Bayer Advanced to continue driving its leadership in rose care.
Bayer Advanced, the leader in rose and flower care, is actively analyzing potential partnerships for the next chapter in the company’s ongoing quest to support do-it-yourself gardeners everywhere.
“At Bayer Advanced, we have always sought to empower consumers to protect and care for the environments that matter most to them – their homes and communities,” said Jackie Applegate, Vice President and Head of Environmental Science. “As scientists and gardeners ourselves, we deeply appreciate the role that beautiful, green spaces play in generating pride and connectivity among families and communities, and this year we want to find ways to advocate this perspective more vocally than ever before.”
As part of this new effort, Bayer Advanced will be discontinuing its 11-year sponsorship as the exclusive rose care product for the Tournament of Roses® Association.
“We appreciate the great partnership we have enjoyed with the Tournament of Roses Association and all of our Bayer Advanced fans that have supported our efforts in the tournament over the years,” said Applegate. “Our Bayer Advanced team is actively looking at new partnership opportunities and what they will bring to the business, to the industry, and to communities that benefit from beautiful roses and gardens across the country.”
