2016 Workshop - What To Expect

The goal of the Science Teacher Workshop is to provide teachers with the understanding and resources needed to promote an interest in science to elementary age students. Through our Making Science Make Sense program, Bayer is committed to improving science education in the communities where our employees live and work, putting into practice our company’s mission statement and commitment to “Science for a Better Life.”

The workshop will include:

  • Multiple hands-on science experiment demos
  • Overview presentation about Bayer’s West Sacramento research
  • A career panel with 3 Bayer scientists from various research teams
  • Tours of the West Sacramento labs
  • Take-home experiment kits
  • Bayer resource bag and experiment protocols
  • Catered breakfast and lunch

 9:30 am – 10:00 am:  Welcome & Introduction
 10:00 am – 10:45 am:  Experiment Demonstration 1
 10:45 am – 12:00 pm:  Tours & Taste Testing
 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm:  Lunch & Learn – Career Panel
 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm:  Experiment Demonstration 2
 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm:  Round Robin Experiment Session
 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm:  Demo Kit Pick-up
 3:00 pm:  Departure
