Dana Sargent is VP of North America Regulatory Affairs (Crop Protection/Small Molecules) for Crop Science, a Division of Bayer. Her team has responsibility for federal and state registrations; stakeholder relations and stewardship; regulatory policy & issue management; and knowledge information & regulatory compliance activities for Crop Protection.
Dana received a Bachelor’s Degree in Toxicology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Drexel University.
She has more than 25 years of regulatory, toxicology and risk assessment experience. Before re-joining Bayer in 2013, she was VP of Regulatory Affairs and Laboratory Services with Arysta LifeScience North America. Prior to Arysta, she spent 10 years as a Senior Regulatory Toxicologist/Senior Principal Scientist for Bayer, and before that as Global Risk Assessment Lead for Zeneca Agricultural Products. In addition, Dana has led numerous industry technical groups investigating the science of population sensitivity, human exposure, risk assessment methodology and neonatal susceptibility to pyrethroid insecticides. She also served 20 years in the Army National Guard where she held numerous leadership positions, including two Unit Commander positions. She retired in 2008 at the rank of Major.
Dana grew up in a military family and has lived in various places around the world, but spent the latter part of her school years in Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Cary, North Carolina with her husband and two children.
