Asgrow® National Yield Contest Demonstrates Consistent, Strong Brand Performance
Asgrow® brand soybeans continued to show strong performance last season, which was demonstrated in the 2024 Asgrow Brand National Yield Contest.
The annual competition is open to all U.S. farmers who plant Asgrow soybean products. The 2024 contest had 55 winners, most of whom planted Asgrow XtendFlex® seed varieties. Twenty winners had impressive entries of 100 or more bushels per acre. Twenty-one other farmers achieved soybean crop yield in the 90-bushel per acre range.
Maryland farmer Alexander Evans achieved the top yield, 166.66 bushels per acre, on irrigated land with Asgrow AG48XF3 brand soybean seed.
Brittany Eubank, Asgrow brand manager, said these yield results reflected the high-performing genetics of Asgrow XtendFlex soybeans and the hard work and management skills of the contest winners.
“We appreciate everyone who entered the contest and congratulate every winner. It's a victory well deserved,” she said. “The Asgrow brand has an unwavering focus on soybeans and how they can produce high performance and return on investment for farmers.”
The yield contest also demonstrated the strength of the Asgrow XtendFlex brand versus competitors last season. Eubank said XtendFlex soybeans showed a 1.8 bushel-per-acre advantage over competitive Enlist E3® soybeans in 17,339 head-to-head comparisons in Bayer's 2024 breeding and marketing development germplasm trials.
She noted that the Asgrow brand offered an exciting lineup of products for the 2025 season, including 21 new Xtendflex soybean seed varieties. Farmers can count on consistent performance from these products, which offer exclusive genetics for high yield potential along with defensive characteristics to protect against the top soybean plant diseases, such as white mold, Phytophthora, brown stem rot and iron-deficiency chlorosis.
“The XF5 product portfolio is the best from the Asgrow brand's advanced breeding program and extensive testing network, designed to deliver consistent performance and high yield potential to maximize ROI,” Eubank said.
For 2025, all XtendFlex products include Acceleron® Solutions seed treatments for early-to-midseason disease protection against Pythium, early-season Phytophthora, Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium. This seed treatment provides an exclusive combination of fungicides as well as more rapid and increased emergence of seedlings under certain cold conditions.
In addition, Acceleron insecticide seed treatment provides protection against pests, including bean leaf beetles, early-season soybean aphids and seed corn maggots.
They also provide farmers with flexible, excellent weed control boosted by added tolerance to glufosinate herbicide.
