In the next 30 days, most of the south is expected to have higher than normal temperatures with normal precipitation. In the next two weeks, temperatures are expected to change from normal to above normal. Rainfall is expected to change from normal to above normal as temperatures change.
Frogeye Leaf Spot Risk Summary
The risk for frogeye leaf spot is moderate in the eastern geographies, with a high risk in the western production regions.
Next two-week risk interpretation
In the next two weeks, conditions are moderately or highly favorable for frogeye leaf spot in the south. Areas in yellow, scout susceptible cultivars, especially in fields with a history of this disease. A fungicide is recommended on susceptible cultivars at the R3-R4 stage if the disease has been confirmed in fields nearby. Areas in orange, a fungicide is recommended on susceptible cultivars at the R3-R4 stage. Because of resistance concerns, the goal should be to prevent lesions.
