In the next 30 days, the entire South is expected to have higher-than-normal temperatures, with average precipitation. In the next 14 days, the South will experience above-average temperatures, while rainfall is expected to be above normal for regions east of the Mississippi River.
Frogeye Leaf Spot Risk Summary
Risk of frogeye leaf spot is moderate to high within most of the South.
Next two-week risk interpretation
In the next two weeks, conditions remain moderately or highly favorable for frogeye leaf spot. Areas in yellow: scout soybean fields, especially fields with a history of this disease. Consider a fungicide application on susceptible varieties around the R3-R4 stage if the disease has been confirmed in fields nearby. The goal should be to prevent lesions, not find lesions and then spray. Areas in orange, a fungicide is recommended on susceptible soybean varieties that are at the R3-R4 stage.
