One-Month Weather Outlook

In the next 30 days, the North will experience both above- and below-normal temperatures, except for the East Coast, which will be warmer than average. Rainfall is expected to be average. In the next 14 days, temperatures will be higher than normal. Rainfall will be above normal east of Ohio, and normal to below normal to the west.

White Mold Risk Summary

Risk of white mold has increased as soybeans in the far north have advanced into the flowering stage.

Next two-week risk interpretation

In the next two weeks, conditions are moderately or highly favorable for white mold in the far north. Areas in yellow: scout for white mold mushrooms in fields that are flowering and have a closed canopy. Consider a fungicide application on R2-R4 soybeans if mushrooms are found. Areas in orange: a fungicide is recommended on R2-R4 soybean fields that have a dense canopy. Fields with a higher risk include fields that are: drilled, have a high level of fertility, and had white mold in 2024. Also, consult your agronomist.
