White Mold Risk Summary
Risk of soybean white mold is moderate to high for regions north of Highway 30.
Next two-week risk interpretation
In the next two weeks, conditions are moderately or highly favorable for white mold in the northernmost states. Scout soybeans fields with dense, closed canopies and adequate soil moisture. Look on the soil surface for the sclerotia (small black structures) with small white mushrooms protruding from them. Fields with a history of white mold are at a greater risk. Consider a fungicide application if flowers are out and mushrooms are found.
