Which Trait Offers Greater Corn Rootworm Protection?

July 30, 2022

Corn rootworm remains one of the most devastating insects farmers will encounter. Thankfully, farmers have a number of trait options available to help them defend their corn from this challenging pest, but which trait offers the stronger protection?

This question was answered when Bayer evaluated multiple traits across 34 locations with medium to very high corn rootworm pressure. When comparing root node protection, SmartStax® PRO with RNAi Technology came out on top with the least average root node damage.*

SmartStax PRO Technology combines the proven benefits of SmartStax® Technology, a strong option proven on over 150 million acres,** with an additional, new RNAi-based mode of action. As a result, SmartStax PRO with RNAi Technology provides three modes of action against corn rootworm for the strongest biotech defense available from Bayer,* giving farmers an advantage when it comes to combating corn rootworm.
