4 Reasons to Plant Deltapine® Brand Cotton
With a long history of consistent high-end performance, Deltapine® brand is the No. 1 choice for cotton growers.*
1. Yield Potential
Yield. That’s one of the reasons so many growers choose to plant Deltapine brand cotton varieties.
Deltapine® brand Bollgard® 3 ThryvOn® cotton with XtendFlex® Technology (B3TXF) and Bollgard® 3 XtendFlex® varieties are planted by growers seeking consistent, outstanding yield potential, premium fiber quality and innovative agronomic traits to help manage insects and weed pests. The recent history of variety commercialization has shown Deltapine cotton varieties have raised the bar on what growers expect for yield performance in cotton.
The yield bar was elevated in 2016 with the introduction of DP 1646 B2XF and further raised with the Class of ’21 varieties, such as DP 2127 B3XF, and again with the Class of ’23, including DP 2333 B3XF and DP 2317 B3TXF. The Class of ’24 brought to market improved yield performance in the B3TXF trait package with DP 2414 B3TXF.
2. Yield Proven
The New Product Evaluator (NPE) Program began in 2008 to identify the best genetics to bring to market in a Deltapine bag, and each new class of Deltapine varieties now offers improved yield potential and agronomics based on feedback from NPE growers. The program has become an industry-trusted source of variety evaluation data, leading to products that raise performance expectations in cotton and offer effective trait solutions for pest management.
Across the Cotton Belt, NPE growers manage new variety candidates within their own growing environments. Their feedback throughout the season and final yield and quality results will help determine which varieties have the proven performance worthy to make it into a Deltapine bag.
Each new class of Deltapine cotton varieties brings yield performance improvements over existing products, as proven in the NPE Program. In the Mid-South since 2020, the trend in the NPE Program has been, on average, a 68 pound-per-acre yield improvement with each new class of Deltapine cotton varieties. In the Southeast, the trend has been a 67 pound-per-acre yield improvement, on average; and in West Texas, the trend has been a 42 pound-per-acre improvement, on average.
The Deltapine Class of ’25 cotton varieties evaluated this season look to continue the trend of bringing improved yield potential to growers in each region of the Cotton Belt.

4. Outstanding Agronomic Traits
While high-end yield potential is one of the first thing growers associate with the Deltapine brand, that potential is protected by agronomic traits and a system designed for success.
ThryvOn® Technology for cotton provides built-in protection against key tarnished plant bugs and thrips species and can be a game changer for growers. With fewer thrips feeding on the young plants, crops can emerge healthier and often reach pinhead square faster. Most university cotton specialists currently do not recommend spraying ThryvOn Technology cotton for thrips due to the outstanding protection demonstrated against this pest across several seasons of moderate to heavy pressure.********
ThryvOn Technology for cotton also helps suppress plant bugs, potentially delaying threshold buildup and reducing the number of sprays needed. With a 6.1% increase in square retention, ThryvOn Technology helps plants reach their yield potential.*********
In every growing region, there are NPE-proven Deltapine cotton varieties to help growers maximize their 2025 acres. To find the right variety for your region, visit Deltapine.com.
