Specticle Loyal Companion Contest Celebrates The Value And Companionship Course Dogs Bring To Their Owners, Their Courses And The Golf Industry
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (January 21, 2015) – To celebrate two of the most dependable golf course companions – the course dog and Specticle® herbicide – Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience LP, today announced the launch of the Specticle Loyal Companion Photo Contest as part of a year-long campaign highlighting loyal companions. Golf course superintendents and assistant superintendents are eligible to enter for a chance to win prizes, including the opportunity to give back to their local animal shelter, win Bayer products and be featured at their course, alongside their loyal companion, in a golf industry magazine.
“We understand the importance of loyal companions on and off the course,” said David Wells, golf business manager at Bayer. “The goal of our Specticle Loyal Companion initiative is to celebrate the special relationship between superintendents and their course dogs and give back to the community by helping to find loving homes for pets.”
Superintendents and assistant superintendents can submit photos of their course dog from Jan. 12 – Feb. 6 at http://www.backedbybayer.com/specticle-photo-contest. A selection panel of industry leaders will identify the top three submissions for public voting. Public voting will open Feb. 16 and will continue through Mar. 13. Golf industry professionals can vote in person at the Bayer booth during the 2015 Golf Industry Show (GIS) held in San Antonio from Feb. 21-26. Winners will be notified no later than Mar. 20.
By entering the contest, superintendents and assistant superintendents receive the chance to win one of 24 prizes, including the following:
- First 20 entries will each receive a case of Specticle Total.
- Three semi-finalist winners will each receive a $1,000 donation in their name to a local animal shelter in their area.
