Bayer Crop Science Gives Back to the Community

At Bayer, we take great pride in giving back to the communities where we live, work and play. Social responsibility is about more than dollars and time donated; it’s about making meaningful impact on the lives of our neighbors and helping our communities thrive.

Our commitment is demonstrated across the U.S. through financial donations and volunteering initiatives that focus on the areas where we believe we can make the strongest impact: food and nutrition programs, STEM and agricultural education initiatives and community enhancement support.

Food and Nutrition Programs

Globally, one in nine people in the world today (795 million) are undernourished. As a global leader in agriculture, Bayer takes this challenge seriously and our aim is to help growers around the world protect their crops and enhance their potential to grow more food. But we don’t stop there.

Our work to support food banks, soup kitchens and other community organizations across the U.S. helps impact immediate needs, as we know hunger is not only occurring elsewhere in the world – it’s happening in our own back yards.

STEM and AG Education Initiatives

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math play an important role in almost every facet of our lives, yet a growing body of research shows that career interest in these fields is diminishing. We know if we can reach children at an early age – when their minds are curious about the world around them – we can leave a lasting impression that will excite them about careers in science and begin to mold the next generation of STEM leaders.

Bayer’s award-winning Making Science Make Sense Program seeks to advance science literacy across the United States through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, employee volunteerism, community partnerships and public education.

Community Enhancement Support

We know that one size does not fit all. Communities have a wide range of unique needs from first responder support to workforce and professional development, shelter resources, rehabilitation services and more. Our support of community enhancement initiatives touches many sectors of society that strengthen communities and help them grow in important ways.

Employees help bring Bayer’s spirit giving to life by rolling up their sleeves and volunteering in throughout the year. Whether serving at a food bank or soup kitchen, engaging children with science experiments, helping revitalize an inner city neighborhood or taking part in an initiative that has special meaning to them personally, giving back is a way of life.
