Longer-lasting Alion® herbicide provides a superior solution for pre-emergence control of a broad range of grass and broadleaf weeds, including ALS- and glyphosate-resistant species. Alion is available for use in established grapes of at least 5 years of age. Alion contains a unique class of chemistry (cellulose-biosynthesis inhibitor) as its active ingredient (Group 29). Alion offers excellent crop and environmental safety when used as directed. Alion provides up to 6 months of residual control, reducing the number of in-season sprays.

  • For use in established vineyards at least five years after the vines have been planted and exhibiting normal growth and good vigor
  • For use on soils with less than 20% gravel content.
  • Broadcast rate of 3.5 to 5 fl. oz. per acre per year, depending on soil organic matter content, on any soil texture except sand
  • Grape roots should have at least 12 inches of soil barrier
  • Best results achieved when applied in the fall/winter to optimize incorporation from fall and winter rains​
