Commodity Classic 2018 was a wonderful event, one marked by a celebration of past achievements by the 2017 National Wheat Yield Contest champions as well as a chance for leaders in the wheat industry, from WestBred® agronomists to growers and seed suppliers, to look ahead to the future of wheat.

Yield champions from across the country gathered to be honored at this year’s event and plan for their potential repeat as championships next season.

“It’s an exciting time in the wheat business,” Lance Embree, a regional commercial manager for WestBred wheat, said from Commodity Classic. “We’re excited to have these winners here.”

“These guys are achiever-type personalities. They want to do their best,” Lance said from the WestBred booth. “They’re intrigued by getting as many bushels out of an acre as they can. So they look for the best products they can do that with and for a majority of this year’s winners, it was WestBred.

“It’s fun to have that enthusiasm.”
