One-Month Weather Outlook

In the next 30 days, temperatures should remain normal for the northern region, except for the east coast, where temperatures will be higher than normal. Rainfall is expected to be normal in the north, except for areas within the Ohio River Valley, which can expect higher than normal rainfall. In the next 14 days, the entire north will likely see higher than normal precipitation, with temperatures varying from normal to higher than normal.

Gray Leaf Spot Risk Summary

The risk for gray leaf spot remains low in the Corn Belt during this period.

Next two-week risk interpretation

The risk is low over the next two weeks as weather conditions are not favorable for gray leaf spot, except for much of Missouri and some other areas in the southcentral part of the Corn Belt. Areas in yellow, scout susceptible hybrids. Corn-corn fields and fields with high nitrogen rates have a higher than moderate risk, especially no-till c-c fields. A fungicide application is recommended on susceptible hybrids at or around the VT-R3 stage if lesions are found on the earleaf, or one leaf below the earleaf.
